Hi! Good morning!
One thing you should know about me is that I never take time to really sit down and read, something I actually wish I did. I have read a couple of books during my life, and always have a page marked in a few on my night table but I have certainly not read enough to participate in discussions and reviews with others. Something funny; when people I meet want to show (or maybe show of) their knowledge about Scandinavia, many do in fact refer to popular Scandinavian writers; Henning Mankell, Camilla Läckberg, Jo Nesbö etc. I find myself looking or at least feeling like Bambi on thin ice and normally just agreeing or eventually revealing my lack of knowledge in this field.
Ever since I started to read I have always had something for book concerning either the reality such as biographies or otherwise books with new knowledge; psychology, success, history or similar. I don’t like fiction nor stories. I have the feeling I want to be in the presence and not read my mind away in some other persons world while I like mine very much. Then we have some who seem to read one book a week and I have no idea how they find time?
However, I do always have one or two book that I start and continue. Sometime it takes long to read them sometimes faster; currently I can recommend you two that I have recently read: 1. By Invitation Only and 2. Outliers with Malcolm Gladwell. The first one, is written by the ladies who started GILT Group and I just adore this story, from writing about their career, school, friends and personal decisions to digital fashion, technology and everything concerning starting a business. The second one by Gladwell is a book concerning psychology and analyzing successful individuals on a very deep level; culture, family, and how all this makes sense in the bigger picture (takes long time too read.., but worth it). So at least I will use these days in between Christmas and New Years to load the batteries and read (I have also bought a couple of Swedish magazines to switch with!). Starting now! Hugs and wishing you a super cozy day!
