BLOGGER GUIDE TO VENICE

Good morning! Yes, for me it feels like a Monday as I just got back from lovely Venice! Do I feel rested? No, not at all but I feel happy and I thought I'd give you the best of the best tips to Venice (as I spent many days in front of my laptop to figure it all out…).

Hotel
The standard in Venice is incredibly low, so a 4 star hotel will be more like a no star hotel. So either go for a well known five star, or just stay outside of town on one of the islands. Pick one of these hotels and you wont be disappointed. Price wise a four / three star hotel will cost you somewhere around 300-400 Euro a night (insane!) and you will get nothing for it, so I think it’s very much worth it to pay a little extra. My best advise, don’t try to find that cozy romantic hotel in Venice, they have all good photos on their website but looks nothing like it when you enter. Think big, go for the well known hotel chains.
Food
Food in Venice is great, if you find the right places. Taste-good should not be expensive, and hence, you will need to look for the restaurants at the backstreets.
Have a drink at the terrace of hotel Danieli (the terrace bar closes at 18.30)
Eat cake or meringue at Harry’s bar
Eat Cincetti (tapas) in the district of Campo Santa Margherita
Have simple dinner at Osteria Anice Stellato
Eat fusion gourmet at Venissa on Burano Island
Have Sunday lunch at the original Cipriani at Torcello island

See things & get around
From and to the airport you can go with boat, I totally recommend you to take your own water taxi! It was so much fun and a great start and end to our trip (EUR 110 one way). Sightseeing: yes, I love to have a private guide to take you around town. This makes the experience sooo much better by understanding the history and all events that has shaped the city. I can warmly recommend Luisella, she was a fantastic guide and her website is to be found here. www.seevenice.it … We also booked a guide to take us around the best Cincetti places (like Italian tapas….) but it was not worth it, the guide was a bit strange so avoid that.
Outside Venice
Yes, the best of Venice is outside Venice! My favourite Island is Burano with all colourful houses and Torcello, a very local small island with fantastic restaurants. Buy a 24 hour water ticket and you can go on all boats for 24 hours. Totally worth it! Extra tips; go to the opera, visit the Biennale (like art Basel…) like we did, take a gondola rowing class (we heard someone doing that), and just sit in the sunshine and drink wine <3

VENICE NEXT

Good morning, or not good morning. I woke up at five o clock and couldn't fall asleep as it was a huge mosquito in our bedroom making it's biiping sound. Ahrrrghhh....I'm sooo tired, but at least I had time to work, pack and watch the sunrise to see it from the positive side! I'm going to the airport now to fly to Venice for the weekend. I've been to Venice once before, many years ago with my parents and I look forward to come back! I believe Venice is a place where one needs to be well prepared to not fall into all tourist traps and there I've booked us a private guide for the weekend that will takes us around while explaining all the historical events of the city and its surrounding. I look forward to update you on Monday! Enjoy your weekend!

MODELLING

Hi guys, I'm just quickly checking in to say hello! I've had a long long day of photo shooting with Jennifer all day long. Modelling is exhausting and I've been lying on the sofa for 10 minutes trying to drink a coffee! I'm going into Zurich now to meet up a friend of mine for an event at a watch store and later on heading for dinner with other friends from Mexico. Phew.... and tomorrow I'm flying to Venice. Yey! Lots' of traveling and a hefty program here, but I love every second of it! Hugs!!!

CAMERA FOR BLOGGING

Let’s talk photography… I collaborate with my super pro Jennifer for most of my photos but when I’m out on my own attending events and or just home capturing my dinners or flowers I make the photos on my own. Before I even started my blog (in December last year) I decided to buy a good camera as blogging is all about the pictures in my opinion. So what is "good camera for blogging"

I decided to go for Sony Alpha 5100 as it’s a “smart camera” with touch screen, digital transfer to my phone and also a video camera (although never used…). I even love my camera so much that I made it drink coffee after my first week of having it; I dropped my coffee cup all over the lens which of course broke and I needed to pay a fortune to get repaired. Well, I love my camera and I can warmly recommend it. If I make some sort of selfie pictures I have a small tripod to stabilise the picture.

Now it’s time for me to prepare for my photoshoot with Jennifer tomorrow, we are going to shoot a couple of summer looks; dresses, heels and hats.

THREE THINGS

Hi there, Three things on my mind right now; One, I hope your day is as sunny as mine! Two, I really feel like sharing this beautiful inspiration from Alexander White, an apartment to die for and Third and last; the divorce of Isabella Löwengrip.

I find it shocking and I can’t stop thinking about it. She has been one of my role models for a long time, and somebody that seemed to have such a good balance between business and family life. And on Sunday they announced the divorce. I feel so sad for her, she said in her previous blogpost that she’s lending an apartment in Stockholm city and I wonder how that split will go with her having all the success and her husband who’s the more passive one. It will for sure go down in Swedish history where the essence of gender equality and roles never been more present. And it reminds me to never take love and happiness for granted.

Isabella wrote on her blog something like...

"Your company will never wake up and say they don't love you anymore". True words...
