Happy Midsommar my darlings! As I would say in Swedish “Glad Midsommar!”. I’m a total lover of traditions and I would never skip any of them! Traditions are a possibility to really add that sparkle to the daily life and a great opportunity to celebrate. Tonight we are hosting a midsummer party at our house were we have invited our Swedish friends and their partners. Normally one would of course celebrate during the day but as it’s a normal working day here in Switzerland, we celebrate in the evening.
Good morning! Right now I’m dreaming about creating a home office with a smaller desk, a couple of shelves and some inspiring posters or a blackboard. I’m currently working from the kitchen table, which is great too but I miss to have my really own space where I can place my coffee cup without worrying about stains, and spread my books and papers around without the need to clean it up in the end of the day.
A good looking room or a nicely decorated house is a well planned and thought through process. Interior design starts with inspiration, then visualisation, then searching the market for the “wanted furniture or pieces” and lastly getting it done meaning buying, painting or whatever you would need to do to reach your interior “goal”. Following that process, let me then start with the inspiration and some thoughts.
During our ride from Tegernsee to Zurich in July last year, and the longest traffic jam ever, I entertained myself googling sofa beds in the area; and voila, my search gave me what I wished for. The perfect sofa bed, individually manufactured and customised to your needs. Five months later (which felt like a lifetime of watching movies on the floor) our dream sofa arrived from Signet. And we bought it from Sofa Couture in Germany. This is absolutely no sponsored post, it’s just a post written from the heart recommending my favourite sofa manufacturer!
I love smoothie for breakfast, and this morning I had a blueberry banana smoothie. Firstly, it looks delicious with this lovely lavender colour and all the blueberries hopefully helps to get rid of the last pieces of this flu. I love to take a stroll on my balcony in the morning while having my tea or smoothies like this one. I have a good overview up here, of both the lake, the mountains and the city and the view makes me so calm, like feeling in control of what is happening out there.
It’s incredibly hot here today and I’m planning to go down to the lake later for a swim. It’s already 29 degrees in the shade and it not even midday. We spent last night at the lake, a small picnick with wine, cheese pie and melon. It was a magic evening.
If you wish to make the same smoothie for lunch, let me inspire you with my simple recipe;
2 frozen bananas (yes, peel the banana and freeze it in a box), two handful of blueberries, 1dl of coconut milk, 1 dl of water and adding vanilla pulver if you like it sweeter. Have a lovely day!
