I like valentine as a special occasion to do something extra for your beloved ones a little present or a glass of champagne or so, but it has also become a day where one needs to meet other expectations. This is the commercialised force behind it that I dislike, and I also think about all the ones that has no one to celebrate valentines with. I remember when I was in school (13-15) where we had a “secret rose sender” on Valentines day when the boys could go and send roses to the girls they liked and have them delivered in the classroom. I remember there was one girl in our class who always got a ton of roses, the popular girl. I was certainly not her! Haha! I can laugh now, but back then I guess I wanted to be like her.

I made a little trip downtown over lunch to fix my little surprise for Valentines. I needed to print some photos “the old way” of doing it, basically taking your (today… iPhone) connect it to the photo automat and printing them. Today we always take so many photos but you almost never watch them a second time. That’s why I’m still a big fan of printed or “real” photos. Whatever one would call it.
Anyhow, what I prefer is to spread a little bit of valentine into each day and make each day special with nice dinners, lots of hugs and kisses and show my surroundings that they mean a lot to me.
What do you think about valentines?
And do you have someone to spend your day with?
