Frist Monday of 2017! Iiiihhh! I wish I could put sound effects on my posts so when you read the first sentence would make just that sound; iiiiihhh! I feel like a walking energy bar! I adore two times of the year; 1st September as that feels like a mini-new year when the summer break is over and 1st of January when it is a new year for real. I love to summarise, review and plan ahead.
However, new years resolution is nothing I really believe in for example “I should train more, “I should go to the gym more” or “I should not….eat candy, smoke” or whatever habit is disrupting you. I simply believe in making healthy routines part of your routines, and replace bad habits with good habits. For example; if I would always put myself on the couch once I am home I would replace that routine with something healthier in order to really change it; make a rule that before you lie down you need to make 50 squats, or if you take the bus home from work, then go of the bus one stop earlier than normal and walk the remaning 10 minutes. The key is to break your bad routines and replace them with new ones.
Sounds maybe crazy but I have my training schedule in my head; each Monday I power-walk and make exercises outside (squats etc..), each Tuesday I run in the evening, and so on, I have something for everyday. If there is a day I know I wont make a run over lunch or in the evening, then I run in the morning as early as 06.00. But I never break my routines. I am no expert on fitness but I know what works for me, something quick and can be done outside gym (as I dislike gyms…).
