MIDSUMMER DINNER
I hope you had a really nice day so far. I just came back from the supermarket where I’ve been buying all the food and ingredients for tomorrow’s Midsummer dinner and I’ve been carrying a kilo of butter and several liters of cream, midsummer dinners are definitely heavy and delicious! I’m hosting a traditional Swedish midsummer party for my Swedish girlfriends and their partners and I will prepare some of the food and the decoration already tonight. Did you see my home office inspo this morning? If not, just scroll down. Have a great evening!

CREATING A HOME OFFICE

Good morning! Right now I’m dreaming about creating a home office with a smaller desk, a couple of shelves and some inspiring posters or a blackboard. I’m currently working from the kitchen table, which is great too but I miss to have my really own space where I can place my coffee cup without worrying about stains, and spread my books and papers around without the need to clean it up in the end of the day.

A good looking room or a nicely decorated house is a well planned and thought through process. Interior design starts with inspiration, then visualisation, then searching the market for the “wanted furniture or pieces” and lastly getting it done meaning buying, painting or whatever you would need to do to reach your interior “goal”. Following that process, let me then start with the inspiration and some thoughts.

I like my office to be in black and white colours, a clean look to keep my focus. Eventually adding some posters with inspiring people or quotes.

It’s important to have tools for storage like boxes for papers and penholders. A watch is always a good idea to keep track of the hour.

I like decoration that’s simple and changeable; like photos that I can change reflecting the season and my mood.

A comfortable chair for long days and a blackboard to note down new ideas, goals and dreams.
Have a lovely day and if you have comments and ideas of a home office or even your own home office I would be glad to see it! Hugs!

SOFA COUTURE
Last week when cleaning one of my cupboards I found two unused pillowcases I’ve forgotten about. I remember I bought them on a late winter evening at IKEA and even before we received our sofa, in the hope that they would match. It’s a shade of green that reminds me of forest green, smaragd or even spirulina. I think they fit perfectly to our sofa, which has a matt greyish blue tone that the sofa producer Signet call the colour Nemo.
SOFIA CM INTERIOR BLOG ZUICH,
The sofa was an experience in it self. I searched each corner of internet, each city we went to, any store I came across and even outlets and sofa-makers. I was looking for the perfect sofa bed. I truly became a sofa expert during these months. Sofa bed sounds very boring but they are very practical, especially when we don’t have an extra guest room. Now, Sofa beds can also be incredibly ugly and uncomfortable, so the hunting for the perfect one (good looking, comfortable and right size) was a battle.
SOFIA CM INTERIOR BLOG ZUICH,

During our ride from Tegernsee to Zurich in July last year, and the longest traffic jam ever, I entertained myself googling sofa beds in the area; and voila, my search gave me what I wished for. The perfect sofa bed, individually  manufactured and customised to your needs. Five months later (which felt like a lifetime of watching movies on the floor) our dream sofa arrived from Signet. And we bought it from Sofa Couture in Germany. This is absolutely no sponsored post, it’s just a post written from the heart recommending my favourite sofa manufacturer!

SMOOTHIE

I love smoothie for breakfast, and this morning I had a blueberry banana smoothie. Firstly, it looks delicious with this lovely lavender colour and all the blueberries hopefully helps to get rid of the last pieces of this flu. I love to take a stroll on my balcony in the morning while having my tea or smoothies like this one. I have a good overview up here, of both the lake, the mountains and the city and the view makes me so calm, like feeling in control of what is happening out there.

SOFIA CM INTERIOR BLOG ZUICH,

It’s incredibly hot here today and I’m planning to go down to the lake later for a swim. It’s already 29 degrees in the shade and it not even midday. We spent last night at the lake, a small picnick with wine, cheese pie and melon. It was a magic evening.

SOFIA CM INTERIOR BLOG ZUICH,

If you wish to make the same smoothie for lunch, let me inspire you with my simple recipe;

2 frozen bananas (yes, peel the banana and freeze it in a box), two handful of blueberries, 1dl of coconut milk, 1 dl of water and adding vanilla pulver if you like it sweeter. Have a lovely day!

MONDAY FASHION PICKS

In the end of July I'm attending a wedding of a Swedish girlfriend, in Sweden, although she's living in New York. I know the crowd will be international and know that the styles of the guests might vary, especially during the gatherings and the dinners.

At the night of the wedding, at the party I want to look cute rather than sexy and just bought this blush dress from Alexis. I haven't decided if I want to wear glammy heels or classy simple ones; I'm hesitating between the two pairs below. And bag, something blush pink and small and a pair of sparkling earrings. Hugs!
